I made a 8 page graphic novel inspired by a memory of participating in family ancestral rites (Jesa) in Korea. It shows the steps to prepare foods, relationships with my grandparents, and the way of visiting the cemetery.
I was able to explore different shapes and symbols to share the story as well as to use limited color palettes based on the ritual objects.
